A particularly awesome scene from Takin’ Over The Asylum, one of David Tennant’s earlier roles.

This was a really great miniseries about an alcoholic in denial who becomes a DJ at a mental hospital in Scotland and the residents he meets there. Tennant plays the most amazing, sweet little manic kid bouncing off the walls. There is a love story but it was actually kind of adorable and didn’t turn into some ~healing power of love~ crap.

I don’t just love this show, I also really respect it for its humanity and its very humane portrayal of people dealing with mental illness and substance abuse issues. It struck a perfect note of realism and optimism that really resonated with me.
